Death toll of Cambodian civilians killed by Thai shelling rises to 7

Cambodia, Dec 9 (UNI/SPUTNIK) The death toll of Cambodian civilians killed by Thai shelling has risen to seven, with another 20 injured, the Cambodian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
“According to preliminary information from provincial authorities, the Thai military's shooting targeted civilian locations from December 8, 2025, to December 9, 2025, resulted in the death of 7 innocent Cambodian civilians, and 20 were seriously injured,” the ministry said.
The Cambodian Foreign Ministry, during an emergency meeting, has presented 30 diplomats and representatives of three international organizations, including the United Nations, with information about attacks by Thai military, which violates the reached agreement, the Khmer Times newspaper reported.
Hostilities along the Thailand-Cambodia border intensified over the weekend and continued into this week, with both sides accusing each other of violating the ceasefire.
